Nvidia chip maker, is ready to produce a quad core processor Tegra 3.
The next smartphone with quad-core processors already on the market and more developed, functions and performance
called will be able to compete with the tablet. Not only that, the trend of flagging game console market is also likely to occur, because gamers would switch to a smartphone.
Nvidia chip maker, is ready to produce a quad core processor Tegra 3 for smartphones en masse.
Mid-January 2012 and, at the Consumer Electronics Show exhibition in Las Vegas, vendor Fujitsu has showcased a prototype Android smartphone
which uses a quad core processor Tegra 3.
Smartphone running the Android operating system 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and gaming applications capable of running smoothly without
lag. Games are played when it is Riptide GP, who classified the game "greedy" processor and memory.
Smartphones such as this will provide the gaming experience on the big screen with high resolution and controller to navigate through the finger on the touch screen. Moreover, the operating system Ice Cream Sandwich has experienced an increase in terms of user interface.
Gradually, the presence of this high-performance smartphone will hit the market console game. This is evident from the report the market share for hardware, software, and console gaming accessories continues to decline from year to year.
Three of the largest manufacturers of gaming consoles is Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony, will fight hard to maintain their customers.
If the vendor intends to attract the attention of smartphone gamers to switch to smartphones, they should think of creating a device that is more comfortable to play and grasped.
Examples are some of Sony's Xperia smartphone series (formerly Sony Ericsson), which adds the buttons controller to play games
PlayStation and given certificates. However, the Xperia ability in playing the game practically limited by Sony, because the original vendor
Japan is not going to kill its PlayStation game consoles.
From the application developer (developer) for gaming applications, the number continues to increase. Applications are available at game stores online application are also more and more.
Take for example Rovio, Angry Birds game developers for IOS and Android-based devices, it has received various offers
that arouse from the investors. Rovio is predicted to develop into a major game developer companies.
Smartphone vendors and developers a serious threat to the company's game console. Moreover, the smartphone also can be used for activities
Others, such as accessing the Internet, to work, multimedia, and so forth.
Nevertheless, the smartphone also has a weakness in battery life. Quad-core processor embedded in smartphones will
suck up more battery consumption.
There is even a possibility, processor performance will decline when operating in battery saving mode. Therefore, a smartphone with quad-core processors must have a battery with a super strong durability.
Tests on first mobiles powered by Intel chips ‘fastest ever’
TESTS on the first mobiles powered by Intel chips have given them higher marks than any other phone examined, including the iPhone and the Samsung Galaxy S2.
Benchmarking tests carried out by website Anandtech said the results were as good as those found in tablets. It gave the new Intel ‘reference’ design a class-leading test time of 1,331.5ms when running Javascript, compared to 2,250ms for the latest iPhone, 1,988.1ms for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and 3,727.4ms for the popular Samsung Galaxy S2.
Intel announced its first mobile phone deals at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last week, revealing that Lenovo would be the first company to sell a device, launching the K800 in China, and that Motorola had signed a multi-ear deal that will see it sell phones in the second half of this year.
The tests on the new "Medfield" Atom Z2460 chip indicate that Intel’s own claims for its technology are largely accurate. The company also says that battery life remains good, despite the increased performance, because the chips only have one ‘core’, while some rival devices use twin or even quadcore processors.
Dave Whalen, vice-president of Intel’s architecture group, said that “We don’t frankly see the need for dual core. Our single core with hyperthreading allows simultaneous applications – so we get much greater power efficiency. We believe we are at par if not better than our competitors.”
Intel has made a number of previous attempts to enter the burgeoning smartphone market, previously announcing a phone with LG that was subsequently cancelled. Last week, however, it underlined its commitment to the new form factor by saying that it had held discussions with Apple about using Intel chips for the iPhone, and that it expected to make Windows Phone devices as well.
Anandtech concluded that the platform " appears to deliver better CPU performance than anything on the market, despite only having a single core. GPU (graphics processing unit) performance is still not as fast as what's in the A5 but it's competitive with much of the competition today, and I fully expect the dual-core version of Medfield to rectify this problem."
Both Apple and Texas Instruments, however, have new faster processors coming with new devices, although Intel is also expected to upgrade its processors’ performance when it launches a new processor codenamed “Clover Trail”.
